Stapel will be performing several upgrades to our hosting infrastructure as part of our regular maintenance schedule.
Stapel Datacenter Maintenance - June 2022
Stapel will be performing several upgrades to our hosting infrastructure on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 1:00 AM EST to 2:00 AM EST. During this period, we will be performing several maintenance tasks that may affect your service availability for brief periods as outlined below.
Affected Services:
- Email Hosting:
- Start Time: 1:00 AM
- Estimated Time to Complete: 5 Minutes
- Detail: There may be a brief outage, less than 3 minutes, as a result of some system reboots. All email services will be verified post reboot, and any mail that arrives during the reboot will be queued for delivery once the reboot is completed.
- Web Hosting:
- Start Time: 1:10 AM
- Time to Complete: 15 Minutes
- Detail: There will be a breif outage, less than 5 minutes of all sites hosted on the Stapel Hosting Platform as a result of some system updates to the website platform. All Sites are backed up on a daily basis and we will run an additional backup prior to initiating the system updates.
- File Sharing Services:
- Start Time: 1:10 AM
- Time to Complete: 15 Minutes
- Detail: We will be performing software patches on your filesharing instance to ensure the latest security patches. During the upgrade process, the system will go into maintenance mode
- ERP Hosting
- Start Time: 1:30 AM
- Time to Complete: 10 Minutes
- Detail: We will be upgrading the ERP Application to the latest version 13 which brings bug fixes and minor performance improvements. During the upgrade, the system will be put into a maintenance mode and will be inaccessible until the upgrade is completed.
- Offsite Disaster Recovery Services
- Start Time: 1:40 AM
- Time to Complete: 15 Minutes
- Detail: We will be updating software that runs our Offsite Backup and Disaster Recovery Services. We do not expect any impact on Disaster Recovery services for this maintenance task, as all Disaster Recovery services are fully redundant.
- Voice Over IP (VoIP) Phone Services
- Start Time: 1:45 AM
- Time to Complete: 5 Minutes
- Detail: We will be performing system updates on the application that will causes services to become unstable during the updates. These interruptions will only last approximately 5 minutes while the updates are running. Phones and Mobile apps should reconnect after without issue.
- Managed Wireless:
- Start Time: 1:50 AM
- Time to Complete: 10 Minutes
- Detail: We will be upgrading our controller software and pushing updates to managed devices in your environment. We perform rolling upgrades on these devices, so downtime will be minimized depending on your environment. We do not expect any problems during these upgrades.
For all of these tasks, we will be verifying the status of services after each task is completed.
FAQ
Q: Is there anything I need to do during the maintenance?
A: There is nothing you need to do during the maintenance period. All affected services will simply be unavailable for very brief moments during the maintenance window. The maintenance window will be short due to the preparation, and if we notice anything problematic during the process, we will revert changes and notify you immediately. Once maintenance is complete and everything is up and running we will send out a courtesy letting you know that your services should be fully functioning.
Q: What if one of my services is not working after the maintenance is complete?
A: If you have an issue that we did not catch for some reason, please notify us immediate so it can be addressed. You can send an email to support@stapel.io or call our support line at 540-999-5188 Option 2.
