The Teeling & Company Story:

In December 2017, Teeling & Company, CPAs, was born with a team of three: Barb Teeling, her daughter, and a trusted colleague she'd known for a number of years. Despite initial reservations after years as a partner in her previous firm, Barb envisioned a company reflecting her morals and values, aiming to provide high-quality service to clients she had built relationships with over the years.

Despite positive growth, Teeling & Company faced capacity challenges, prompting a shift toward a "quality over quantity" approach. Seeking the expertise of an accounting consulting firm, Teeling and her team expanded their services beyond tax compliance, fostering a more balanced workload throughout the year. Aligning with their mission statement, "we are entrepreneurs serving entrepreneurs," they strategically curated their client base, recognizing the importance of having a clearly defined focus in achieving their mission. The firm's growth also prompted adjustments in employee numbers and the incorporation of new technologies for seamless daily operations.

Flexibility became a priority during unforeseen challenges, such as the six-week closure of their offices in Spring 2020. Teeling & Company swiftly embraced remote and hybrid work capabilities, adapting to serve clients effectively, even from a distance.

Currently, the firm has welcomed a new member in November 2023, doubling its original team size to six. Celebrating their sixth anniversary in December 2023, Teeling & Company anticipates sustained growth. Looking ahead, they aspire to continue accepting ideal clients, incorporating new technologies like AI to enhance efficiency, and expanding service offerings to include advisory services.

As the firm evolves, Stapel has become a valued partner, offering crucial support during technical challenges and major transitions. Barb expresses gratitude for Stapel's services, emphasizing their quick response times and commitment to data security. Teeling & Company acknowledges the importance of additional support when adopting new technology, ensuring they can learn and grow while dedicating themselves to client service.

What Teeling Does:

Teeling & Company serves a diverse clientele of entrepreneurs and small businesses, providing a range of services tailored to individual needs. Industries served include, but not limited to, personal service corporations, commercial real estate owners and chain restaurants. They’re able to provide small business owners with back office bookkeeping services so they can focus on their operations.

During tax season, Teeling and her team assist with document gathering and return preparation. Other services include representation during IRS audits, merger & acquisition consulting, and estate planning. Through business foundation services, Teeling supports new business owners with entity type selection, accounting system setup, and retirement plan analysis, laying a strong foundation for future growth. The firm continues its commitment through business management services, offering advice, cash management, and fractional CFO services to ease financial management burdens on their clients.
