Footnotes
1When you have Stapel install the hardware, turnaround times for shipping your device to the Stapel Deployment Facilities and then back to you can be up to 5-7 business days depending on your location. This service is offered for those who do not wish to deal with the upgrade process. In most cases, doing a self install is easy and fun and we will include all the necessary tools in the kit that we send along with your new preconfigured hard drive and memory.
2When determining the memory quantity that you need for your specific machine you will want to make sure you know 1) how much memory you have available in your machine; and 2) how many modules your current machine is using, compared to the total number of memory slots. For additional tips on how to determine this, please check out this article. If you are still unsure, please use the "Contact Us" button above and we will be happy to answer your questions and help determine which configuration is best for your specific needs.
3When choosing the storage type, please make sure your system is capable of the solution you're choosing. Sata SSD drives will work in all machines manufactured within the last decade. NVMe Storage devices require a specific type of slot that not all laptops will contain. For desktops, in most cases NVMe drives can be added using an NVMe adapter. As always, if you are unsure, please consult your device's manufacturer website, or contact us and we would be happy to provide direction.
A note about "Consumer Grade" hardware. This doesn't mean lower performance, it means the components are designed for typical use by the average consumer, and makes assumptions about how much data is written to the device over time. This is often expressed in a few different ways. If you're interested in more details, check out this article.
4Stapel uses high quality Crucial and Kingston Memory and Storage parts for all consumer products. The memory comes witha limited lifetime warranty and the storage devices include a limited 5 year hardware warranty. Please consult the links above for details.
